Privacy Policy

This policy describes what data ChoreChartAI collects and how we use it. It applies when you use chorechartai.com and our chore chart generator.

Data we collect and why

Usage limits. To enforce fair usage (for example, a limited number of free chart generations per day), we use a hashed version of your connection information. We do not store your actual IP address. We store only a one-way hash plus request counts and reset times. We do not use this to identify you personally.

Chart text. When you type a description to create a chart or a request in Magic Assistant to change one, that text is sent to our servers and to OpenAI to generate or update the chart. We do not save that text or the generated chart in our own databases. It is processed and then the chart is sent back to your browser.

Data on your device

Chart data and preferences (template, font, colors, and similar choices) are stored in your browser (localStorage) so you can edit your chart and return to it. We do not upload that stored data to our servers except when you submit a description to generate a chart or a request through Magic Assistant.

Third parties

• OpenAI — Receives your chore description and any Magic Assistant request text to generate or update chart content. This data is not used for training purposes and your inputs are not saved by OpenAI or used to train their models. OpenAI privacy policy.
• Pirsch — We use Pirsch for basic site analytics (e.g. page views). Pirsch privacy policy.
• Infrastructure providers — We use third-party services for hosting and for storing rate-limit data (hashed identifiers and counts only). Chart text and chart content are never stored.

Cookies and similar tech

We do not use advertising cookies. We may use minimal session or functional storage where needed to run the site. Pirsch may set its own analytics-related tech; see their policy above.

Retention

Rate-limit data is kept only as long as needed to enforce limits; we delete old records regularly. We do not keep long-term copies of your chart descriptions or generated chart content.

Your rights

You can ask us for access to or deletion of data we hold about you. If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA. Contact us using the details below to make a request.

We may update this page from time to time. The current version is always here; we will update the “Last updated” date when we make changes.
